Introduction

As the world continues to grow with rapidly developing economies, natural resources are increasingly important. However, natural resources are subjected to depletion in time. As the occupants of the Earth, it has always been our responsibilities in taking care of the Earth's resources, especially the unrenewable ones.

UTP Research Paper Conference 2010 (URPC 2010) will present the results from the studies and conduct discussions on the theme set by the URPC Advisor, A.P. Dr. Balbir Singh Mahinder Singh and Dr. Rohani Salleh : “Advancement in Science, Engineering, Humanities and Technology for Sustainable Future”.

With emphasis on relevant areas such as nanotechnology, green technology, deep water technology, CO2 management, energy, sustainable development, megacity and health, the results of those studies presented during the conference sessions will be compiled into a journal for further review, expanding and sharing.

URPC 2010 will see the participation of Undergraduate and Foundation students from UTP, especially those in final year and third year. The conference will promote the understanding and awareness of the challenges and solutions within each field of studies, and provide new innovations, findings and results that will help rebuild and sustain regional and global growth.
